Telefonica and America Movil: Who Leads?

Spain-based Telefonica leads Mexico-based America Movil when it comes to Latin America revenues, but the latter has a clear lead when it comes to profits and the number of subscribers, according to a Latin Business Chronicle analysis of first quarter data from the two companies. The two companies are the largest wirelesss operators in Latin America and also operate major fixed line services in several countries in the region.

REVENUE COMPARISON

Telefonica last week reported first quarter revenues of 5.2 billion euro ($7.97 billion) in Latin America, which was an increase of 10.1 percent in euro terms from the same quarter last year.
