Latin Business Chronicle selects the 15 most powerful businesspeople in Mexico, the second-largest economy in Latin America.

The list includes the key moguls and titans of
Mexico, spanning key sectors like energy, finance, mining and technology.

 

Carlos Slim, head of a conglomerate that spans telecommunications (America Movil, Telmex and more), retail, energy, media (including a stake in The New York Times) and more. With 2009 sales of $30.2 billion, America Movil ranks as Latin America’s second-largest technology company on the ranking of the region’s Top 50 Tech Companies from Latin Business Chronicle. It also ranks as Mexico’s second-largest company and the fourth-largest in Latin America, according to the Latin 500. According to Forbes, Slim had an estimated $53.5 billion fortune in March, making him the wealthiest person in the world.
