Latin Wireless: NII Gains Most

US-based NII Holdings, which owns wireless carriers in five Latin American nations, is the star of the latest Latin Wireless Index.

 

The index measures the quarterly performance of Latin America's top wireless operators. In the case of America Movil, Telefonica, TIM and Millicom, only their Latin American wireless revenues are included.

The latest Latin Wireless Index grew 8.9 percent, its weakest increase since the third quarter last year, when it fell by 1.6 percent.

The index measures performance in US dollars. However, even when analyzing changes in local currencies, NII Holdings posted the strongest increase.
