Telecom Argentina Leads Growth

Telefonica outperforms America Movil on Latin Wireless Index.

Telecom Argentina, majority owned by Telecom Italia, led the way in revenue growth among Latin America’s leading wireless operators last year, according to the Latin Wireless Index from Latin Business Chronicle. Meanwhile, Spain-based Telefonica outperformed Mexico-based America Movil.

The index measures the quarterly performance of Latin America's top wireless operators. In the case of Telefonica, America Movil, Italy-based TIM and Luxembourg-based Millicom, only their Latin American wireless revenues are included. The index uses revenue figures converted to US dollars.
