Some practical advice for foreign business travelers to Latin America.

Traveling to Latin America is relatively safe, but business travelers should take necessary precautions, especially in certain hot spots, experts recommend.

"The risks for business people are more than manageable," says Daniel Linsker, a Latin America analyst with London-based Control Risks Group. "Do not shy away from going to Latin America because [you are] scared. Horrible crimes rarely affect business travelers. You fly into Lima, you get picked up by the hotel, never leave Miraflores and you will be perfectly fine."
